Melanie Joy
Practicing yoga since 2016, Melanie Joy has always felt a deeper connection to her time on the mat. Helping her with her mental health, and guiding her on her spiritual journey, yoga became a way of life for Melanie. She became passionate about learning more about yoga’s origins in India and about the Yogic Path. Melanie spent many years researching India’s spiritual practices and incorporating them into her daily life, including yoga, meditation and pranayama (breathwork).
Over the years, Melanie’s practice taught her how to calm her nervous system and cultivate a sense of presence. Having experienced anxiety and panic attacks in the past, these practices have been life changing and have helped Melanie navigate stress, regulate her emotions, and return to a state of calm and clarity.
In 2024, Melanie Joy completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, at Rishikesh Yoga Association, in Rishikesh India. Following her heart to India, Melanie learnt Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga, as well as deepened her meditation and pranayama practices. More recently, in 2025, Melanie completed an advanced Meditation Instructor Course, through Health & Harmony Colleges. Melanie loves finding presence through a Slow Flow series or a Restorative Yin session. She also loves focusing on correct alignment, to benefit most from her time on the mat.
During her time in India, Melanie was guided by many spiritual teachers to bring her healing energy forward and to share this energy with others. Melanie has a deep connection with India and has been told that she has had many past lives there. Now on a journey to share her inner wisdom, Melanie hopes to guide others on their self-realisation journey through yoga, meditation, and pranayama.
Through these practices, allow Melanie Joy to guide you back to your true authentic self; to help you cultivate an inner peace; and to show you that it’s possible to regain eternal self-love.
